In Praise of Small Presses

This article serves as a fitting addition to the others I’ve referenced (here) on the supremacy of dead-tree books:

In Praise of Small Presses: The books they publish would enliven any library—but you likely won’t find them at your average big box

Worth mentioning is that the article is discussing titles being published by small print houses, not the printed-on-a-copy-machine perfect-bound texts that abound on Amazon. I’m not knocking those outright, I own a few out of print texts that I wouldn’t have otherwise, but they are no match to something that is lovingly and carefully put together. The facsimile books constitute a means to an end, but are often difficult to read because they have not been re-typset, either digitally, or manually.
